The Public Realm Scheme will see a multi-million pound upgrade of Newry’s two main
streets – Hill St and Monaghan St, including new footpaths, street furniture, trees, cycling facilities and a new lighting system.
The scheme will help establish a modern vibrant city centre.. This £1.8million investment is only the start of a wider three-year investment by DSD in the public realm that is proposed in the draft Newry City Centre Masterplan.
