Midleton, Cork

This project included the upgrading of the footpath on the western portion of Main Street, Midleton between Hospital Road and Connolly Street. The scheme was to facilitate a high standard of pedestrian accessibility for the disabled, visually impaired and the general public which will be achieved by means of tactile surfaces, delineation markings, dropped kerbs, pedestrian crossings and suitable surfaces for wheel chair users. Midleton Town Council also enhanced the Main Street environment by improving current levels of street lighting, use of high quality natural stone paved surfaces, and designated pedestrian relief zones that included for the provision of quality public seating and appropriate urban tree and plant species.
