Down District Council enhance Town Centre with Hartecast Public Realm products

The beautiful town of Downpatrick received a major upgrade during its recent investment of £3.3 M which has created a high quality and modern urban landscape. Works in the commercial centre of the town included the provision of new granite paving, new street lighting and street furniture.

A new focal point was created in St Patrick Square, enhancing the entrance to The Saint Patrick Centre and improving access from the Centre to the historical core of the town in English Street. Further work was undertaken at the Grove with the provision of new paths creating easy access from the town to Down Cathedral and Down County Museum.

Hartecast’s high strength durable ductile iron Litter Bins were selected as part of the street furniture delivery. The Litter Bins will see a large interaction with the many daily visitors and pedestrians this town receives and will complement the new town look with their contemporary and stylish designs.
